A while back Lovense reached out to me to ask if I wanted to try one of their toys in exchange for a review. We were given the choice between the Ferri or the Lush 4 to try out, and after a little forum polling and back-and-forth, we ended up picking the Ferri—mostly because the idea of a discreet, wearable toy for public-but-private connection felt a bit too tempting to pass up.

And we’ve tried others in the past, but after testing at home, we didn’t even try to take them out and about, because the bluetooth connection tends to be so intermittent that they’re useless as a remote toy.
Also, while we don’t use vibrators a ton anymore in our marriage, we’ve had our share over the years. We’ve gotten pretty particular about which ones stick around. We literally have a box of toys that sits in the cupboard. In order to find a place in our nightstand, they have to bring something new to the table—something that enhances, not just stimulates.
The Ferri? I think it earned its drawer spot.
First Impressions: Functional and Surprisingly Solid
Unboxing was nothing fancy, but it didn’t need to be. I know some ooo and aww over boxes, but I’m far more of a “function over form” type of guy. Frankly, the box is going to go in the garbage quickly – it’s the toy itself that matters.
The magnetic clip that keeps it in place under her clothing caught my attention right away—it was way stronger than I expected – in fact, at first I didn’t even realize it could come off. I knew something did, but it was so strongly stuck, it didn’t jump out as only being held on by a magnet.
Setup was smooth, and pairing with the Lovense app was painless. That’s not a given for Bluetooth toys, by the way. Some of them take so long to setup that you’ve killed the mood by the time you’re done. Others barely hold a connection long enough to finish the fun. This one? Solid experience all the way through.
The app itself is easy to use. Rather than preset “level 1–3” stuff, the controls are more like a track pad — smooth, continuous, intuitive. You can build your own patterns, sync with music (if that’s your thing), or let your spouse control it in real time.
I ran a few patterns on my phone while she wore it, and she had no clue what I was going to do next. That mystery added a nice psychological layer—anticipation is a powerful force.
Our First Test Drive (Literally)
Then, a few weekends ago, we had a rare occurrence – all five kids were out of the house for three days! So, we took the opportunity to plan a sex-filled weekend.
On the first day, we decided to try it out during a drive to a restaurant in town – 30 minutes each way. No, we didn’t use it at the restaurant (we may one day, but not yet, and not on our first attempt). But the drive was a good testing ground: seated, semi-public, long enough to judge whether it becomes uncomfortable or annoying, as some vibrators do.
I didn’t control it while driving because, well… safety. On the way there, we kept the vibrations low and slow to see how she responded. She said it wasn’t the deep rumble she prefers, but it also wasn’t that annoying high-pitched buzz that leaves you numb. More like a low-level simmer—not enough to tip her over, but enough to keep her aroused and present.
Honestly, that little simmer carried through the rest of the evening and helped set the tone.
On the way home, we tried it out again once we hit the city limits – higher level this time to try and prep for the fun ahead with a similar experience that led to lots of fun later on. The vibrations were strong enough that if I put my hand on her leg, I could feel them reverberating through her limb.
This also means that we likely wouldn’t try this anywhere that is quiet because while it’s not super loud – it’s not exactly silent either. I thought a movie theatre would be fun, but we haven’t had a chance yet. Plus – does anyone make good movies anymore? Feel like it’s been forever since I’ve seen a decent new movie.
Fit and Comfort
No issues here. The magnetic clip worked well. It held the toy securely in place, through her underwear. We haven’t tested it while walking yet, but while seated, no pinching, no slipping, and no discomfort. It simply stayed in place and did what it was supposed to do.
That’s rarer than it should be.
Bonus Round: Overstimulation + Bondage
Later, we tried something different. She was tied up—no underwear, no way to hold it in place—and I placed the Ferri directly on her clit. It slipped now and then, which initially was a little annoying, not a failure of the toy, I mean, it’s designed to be held in place by underwear… but it ended-up improving the session.
Each time I had to reposition it, she got a momentary break—followed by a fresh jolt when it was replaced The gasps when it came back? Priceless. Sometimes “not working perfectly” ends up making things better. This was one of those times.
Where It Fits in Our Marriage
This isn’t going to be an everyday tool for us. But it’s going in the rotation for:
- Date nights
- Road trips
- Long-distance play (if we’re ever apart for a while)
We use toys more for special occasions rather than regular habit, and the Ferri fits that category really well.
Final Thoughts
If you enjoy teasing, delayed gratification, or the thrill of public-but-private connection, the Ferri might be worth checking out. The app is one of the best we’ve used. The toy itself is relatively quiet, comfortable, and does what it promises.
Would we prefer it to be a bit more rumbly? Yes. But the other features more than make up for it. As a result, this toy is going on our short list of go-tos, particularly when the right situation presents itself, such as when we want to play outside the bedroom as a discreet, playful hidden secret to keep us connected.
